Règlement du Prix Janusz Korczak Afrique
Article 1
Le Prix est destiné aux étudiants de niveau master en sciences humaines (histoire, droit, lettres, psychologie, pédagogie, travail social…) des universités publiques et privées d’Afrique.
Article 2
Le Prix récompense un travail individuel de qualité rédigé sur un sujet en lien avec les droits de l’enfant et pouvant se focaliser sur l’une des thématiques suivantes :
Éducation : améliorer les structures pédagogiques et la qualité de l’enseignement. Quelles pistes ?
Les droits de l’enfant (dans la société africaine ou ailleurs) : leur histoire, leurs principes, les problèmes et difficultés d’application qu’ils soulèvent et les perspectives d’avenir. L’ « enfant » est ici défini au sens de la Convention internationale des droits de l’enfant de 1989, c’est-à-dire « tout être humain âgé de moins de dix-huit ans, sauf si la majorité est atteinte plus tôt en vertu de la législation qui lui est applicable ».
Respecter l’enfant : par où commencer ? De la famille à l’école, comment l’enfant peut-il être un véritable partenaire – et non un objet – dans ses relations avec ses parents et ses professeurs ?
Le journal à l’école : rôle, conception ou modalité technique d’un organe de communication au sein d’une école ou d’une communauté d’enfants.
Le livre et l’enfant : le livre a-t-il une place chez l’enfant ? Laquelle ? Sous quelle forme ? Avec quel contenu ?
Article 3
Quel que soit le sujet choisi, le candidat présentera son travail sous la forme d’un mémoire qui comprendra 30 pages A4 maximum (taille de police 12). Ce mémoire peut être rédigé en anglais ou en français, à l’exclusion de toute autre langue. Le document sera traité sur ordinateur au moyen du logiciel Word.
Article 4
Le plagiat et l’usage d’un moteur d’intelligence artificielle (tel que Microsoft Bing, Google Bard, ChatGPT ou autre) sont rigoureusement interdits. Le non-respect de cette clause entraînera l’élimination immédiate du travail concerné.
Article 5
Le jury est nommé par le CIRID et l’Association suisse des amis du Dr Janusz Korczak. Il est composé d’un minimum de 5 personnalités du monde de l’éducation, dont 3 au moins d’un pays d’Afrique. L’un des membres du jury doit représenter l’Association suisse des amis du Dr Janusz Korczak.
Article 6
Les étudiants souhaitant concourir prennent connaissance du présent règlement et l’envoient avec leur mémoire, muni de leur signature, de la date et de la mention « lu et approuvé ».

Article 8
Le prix consiste en une bourse permettant au lauréat de participer à l’université d’été organisée chaque année par la Chaire UNESCO Janusz Korczak en pédagogie sociale, Université Maria Grzegorzewska, Varsovie, Pologne. La bourse comprend les frais de visa et le coût du vol d’Afrique à Varsovie et retour (offerts par l’Association suisse des amis du Dr Janusz Korczak), ainsi que l’écolage, les repas et l’hébergement pendant la durée de l’Université d’été (fournis par la Chaire UNESCO Janusz Korczak en pédagogie sociale).

Rules of the Janusz Korczak Africa Prize
Article 1
The Prize is intended for Master’s level students in the humanities (history, law, literature, psychology, pedagogy, social work, etc.) at public and private universities in Africa.
Article 2
The Prize will be awarded for a high-quality individual piece of work on a topic related to children’s rights, which may focus on one of the following themes:
Education: improving teaching structures and the quality of teaching. What can be done?
Children’s rights (in African society or elsewhere): their history, principles, problems and difficulties in applying them and future prospects. « Child » is defined here in the sense of the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, i.e., « every human being below the age of eighteen years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier ».
Respecting children: where to start? From family to school, how can children be real partners – not objects – in their relations with their parents and teachers?
The school newspaper: the role, design and technical aspects of a communication medium within a school or community of children.
Books and children: do books have a place in children’s lives? What place? In what form? With what content?
Article 3
Regardless of the subject chosen, candidates must submit their work in the form of a dissertation comprising a maximum of 30 A4 pages (police size 12). The dissertation may be written in English or French, to the exclusion of any other language. The document will be processed on a computer using Word software.
Article 4
Plagiarism and the use of an artificial intelligence engine (such as Microsoft Bing, Google Bard, ChatGPT or others) are strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this clause will result in the immediate elimination of the work concerned.
Article 5
The jury members are appointed by CIRID and the Swiss Association of Friends of Dr Janusz Korczak. It is composed of a minimum of 5 personalities from the world of education, including at least 3 from an African country. One of the members of the jury must represent the Swiss Association of Friends of Dr Janusz Korczak.
Article 6
Students wishing to compete must read these rules and send them back with their dissertation, signed, dated and marked « read and approved ».

Article 8
The prize consists of a scholarship enabling the winner to take part in the summer school organised each year by the UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair in Social Pedagogy, Maria Grzegorzewska University, Warsaw, Poland. The scholarship covers visa fees and the cost of the flight from Africa to Warsaw and back (offered by the Swiss Association of Friends of Dr Janusz Korczak), as well as schooling fees, meals and accommodation for the duration of the summer school (provided by the UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair in Social Pedagogy).
